Elizabeth offers therapeutic sessions tailored for adults and children (8 years and older), providing a safe space to explore thoughts and feelings. Her approach aims to foster resilience while addressing challenges like anxiety, stress and being overwhelmed through engaging, evidence-based methods.

Consultation

Personalised Guidance

Engage in one-on-one consultations designed to assess mental health needs and identify actionable strategies. Elizabeth focuses on creating a custom pathway for clients to navigate through personal challenges and enhance everyday functioning.

Fees

For a standard psychological consultation (50 minute duration), the initial consultation is $220 and subsequent consultations are $180. Fees are payable on the day of your appointment by card or electronic funds transfer (EFT).

Medicare

If your doctor has organised a Mental Health Care Plan, you will be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $98.95 for each session (for up to ten sessions per year) under the Better Access initiative. GP referrals are not required to see Elizabeth, but you’ll need a referral from a GP if you wish to claim Medicare rebates. To be considered for a Mental Health Care Plan you will need to schedule a long appointment with your GP. At that appointment your GP, they will complete an assessment to determine eligibility, and relatedly, to provide you with appropriate guidance. Please provide a copy of your Mental Health Plan at the time of booking (email it to liz@elizabethmaier.com.au) and also bring it along to your first appointment.

Private Health

Elizabeth is registered with private health insurance providers in Australia. If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible to claim rebates for psychological sessions. The level of cover and any applicable waiting periods vary between providers and depends on your extras cover policy. To find out if you are eligible and/or how much funding you are entitled to claim for psychological sessions, please contact your private health insurance. If you have private health insurance that covers Psychology please bring your private health care card. Our office has TYRO Health available with Eftpos to process your claim immediately (99% of Australian Private Health Insurers are supported by TYRO's immeditate claiming option).

Please note that you cannot use Medicare and Private Heath claiming for the same session.

WorkCover Queensland

Clients with approved WorkCover Queensland claims can access psychological services with no out-of-pocket cost. Sessions require prior approval from the insurer.

DVA

Elizabeth provides psychological services for clients referred through DVA. Fees for these services are covered by the funding body when prior approval or a valid referral is in place.

NDIS

Elizabeth provides services to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. Standard NDIS pricing applies. Please speak with your Support Coordinator or Planner if you are unsure about your funding eligibility.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice or by cancelling your appointment using the link in your confirmation email. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or non-attendance, may incur a fee equivalent to the full session fee.
