Counselling
Elizabeth is both an AHPRA registered psychologist and a QCT registered teacher who offers person-centred therapy that is tailored to her clients' individual needs. She helps her clients to navigate their feelings, to better manage their stress and improve their overall psychological flexibility and wellbeing.

Approach
Elizabeth takes a warm, collaborative approach to therapy. She supports her clients to build rich, meaningful lives that feel aligned with who they truly are.
Her primary framework is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which helps people develop psychological flexibility, navigate difficult thoughts and emotions and take practical steps toward what matters most to them.

She thoughtfully integrates Compassion-Focused Therapy, which encourages clients to relate to themselves with kindness rather than self-criticism, especially during times of struggle.
A strong Humanistic foundation also underpins her work, meaning that therapy is always centred on the individual. Elizabeth values creating a safe, respectful space where clients feel heard, understood and empowered in their own growth.

Her approach is strengths-based, collaborative and tailored to each person’s unique experiences and goals.

Support
Because therapeutic approaches vary, it is important to find a psychologist whose modality aligns with your specific needs. Given Elizabeth’s background and focus on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a third-wave CBT approach, it is recommended you assess whether this framework is the right fit for your goals. Similarly, a psychologist’s background and experience represent other important factors for consideration. While Elizabeth’s teaching background and school experience might prove helpful with respect to some clients’ needs, there are many other psychologists with different backgrounds and experiences that would better align with many clients’ needs.
